HM Customs & Excise

As part of a joint project with the Inland Revenue, HM Customs & Excise outsourced all of their property to Mapeley Ltd.

Stern were initially employed to complete a survey of IR and HMCE personnel's view of their catering operations. We were then asked to tender all catering contracts so that they could be operated by a single supplier.

A carefully structured exercise was planned that allowed the organization of a substantial volume of information and the practical evaluation of bids.

Once a supplier had been appointed, significant savings could be realised both in the short and long term, together with a more active management style than had previously been possible.
