It was a case of being struck in catering doldrums that decided OUP to tender their catering after a number of years with the same contractor. Stern were invited to project manage the whole process on behalf of the Press.

The tender exercise revealed just how dated the catering service had become and that it should be possible to operate it far more efficiently. Stern Consultancy managed a structured project that resulted in the appointment of a new contractor.  Their success has been measured in doubling restaurant sales and reducing operating costs.
